DAY SEVEN of ELEVN DAYS OF CHEEVER.
TWO PARTS: part one on top, part two on bottom.
Is there any hope of preserving our youth;
or do we just live it over and over; wishing for a different outcome
or at the very least basking in a glow of former acheivement?
This John Cheever story celebrates "OH, Youth and Beauty" while exposing our frailty regarding the aging process; another surprise ending is in store ...
See this and the former stories by Cheever below.

DAY SIX of ELEVEN DAYS OF CHEEVER introduces us to a place known as Shady Hill, a suburb of NYC where the remainder of our Cheever stories  take place. We were introduced to Shady Hill in an earlier episode, as that is whre "The Woman Without a Country" lived before being banished for misbehaving. Lots of misbehavior will be evidenced over the next five days. STAY with me on this!!!

Clancy worked at a building much like this one I suppose ...
Oh, the things he saw!! and the people he met!!!
Of the ones in this collection of mine,
"Clancy and the Tower of Babel" is my favorite Cheever story.
Another two parter (Part One on the top); but, well worth the effort?
I hope so.
ELEVEN DAYS OF CHEEVER is now into its Fifth Day ...
Enjoy this and the other four days ... seen below.

Mr. Cheever, I sincerely hope I did justice to this one.
Two parter. Click the arrow on the above players, one, then the other.
Part One on the top, Part Two on the bottom.
Perhaps the saddest of all Eleven Days of Cheever.
'Nuff said.
See other "Days" below.

I wanted to drop in a photo of a "lonely", "refined" female sojourner ... Alas, she is not to be found anywhere but in your imagination

THIS HAS BEEN FUN SO FAR ... Today?
She made one silly mistake that wasn't really her fault. Is she to pay for it the rest of her life?  Hmmm?
"Woman Without a Country" John Cheever's story of unrecognized cruelty.
We do it all the time!!!
